1st picture: N1 children drooling on that citrus aroma of the orange.
2nd picture: teacher acknowledged that by squeezing the orange. The juice splashed on their faces
creating humour.
3rd picture:once the children could match the words to the fruits, they are rewarded with a fruit feast.
Every year around the 3rd quarter of the year, it is always my pleasure to share with parents and the children on their literacy achievements through lots of play and a print-rich environment. In the above activity the main objectives are to:
1.create awareness of how material can be reuse (the styrofoam tray)
2.describe the texture and taste of the fruits with adjectives (in complete sentences)
3.match the prints to the correct fruits (even after reshuffling the words)
4.to observe that child say the word through phonetic cues.
Last but not least, as the Principal, I must also acknowledge all the work of the teachers and the good cooperation of parents. With this opportunity, I must also attribute the success to the important contribution from Teacher Darshini in reinforcing the project approach and multiple intelligences curriculum and ensuring that they are diligently delivered by her team. Without her dedicated followup, Phyllis will be torn into many parts and yet may not achieve what I am proud of today. Thanks everyone for all the efforts, patience and cooperation!
