Super integrated activities that engaged our children cognitively

During the theme on animals, we not only learnt the general knowledge of category of animals such as farm animals, wild animals, pets etc. We looked at and discussed the animals diet like hen feeds on seeds. While doing all these, we have the fun of cracking melon seeds. We use the shells to outline the shape of the animal of our choice. It was so difficult that most of us decided to form a snake, cobra to be specific! Then we get the reward of eating the seeds, its really yummy!
We were further motivated to count the number of shells, correct method and answer during the process of counting will entitle us another melon seed. It was so enriching, how we hoped that mom & dad were here to join me then, perhaps we will get more yummy seeds!

Patterns all around us! -From the desk of Darshini, N2

Through the objectives of Logical/Mathematical and Environmental Intelligences in our curriculum for the theme of Animals, see how we learnt to be aware of patterns around us. We reinforced that awareness by expressing it through our visual/spatial intelligence activities. Then the beautiful masterpieces were put up on display. Everyday, not only do the children appreciate it, they talk and discuss about the details and process. Isn't that a wonderful environment that create happy and skillful learners at all time! It makes us happy seeing them 'interact' with their work among their friend. Well done children!
